There isn’t much good horror around these days, but the trailer for Prey for the Devil looks pretty good.

As I said, most modern horror is pretty crappy, with a few jump scares and that’s about it. You have to wade through a lot of crap to find the odd gem. Prey for the Devil looks like it be decent.

The story is:

A nun prepares to perform an exorcism and comes face to face with a demonic force with mysterious ties to her past.

There is a fuller synopsis:

“Although nuns are forbidden to perform exorcisms, a professor (Colin Salmon) recognises Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her.

Thrust onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl (who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago) and soon realises the Devil has her right where he wants her… and it wants in.”

Prey for the Devil stars Jacqueline Byers, Colin Salmon, Virginia Madson, Ben Cross, Christian Navarro, and Tom Forbes, to name a few. It is directed by Daniel Stamm, known for The Last Exorcism, which I have seen, but couldn’t tell you a thing about, and 13 Sins, which I haven’t seen, but heard is pretty good.

The movie is also known as The Devil’s Light and is due out 28th Oct 2022.
