It is pretty much known that the fourth installment in Marvel’s Thor franchise – Thor: Love And Thunder – will feature the return of Jane Foster as his love interest. At some point in the Taika Waititi movie, Natalie Portman’s character will lift the hammer and become The Mighty Thor.
Images of Portman in costume had been under wraps so far. However, when the movie wrapped filming over the last couple of weeks a t-shirt was given to crew members. Now that t-shirt has leaked online and it appears to show the first idea of what Portman will look like in the superhero costume.

The image appears to be reasonably comics accurate and shows her wielding Mjolnir while Chris Hemsworth’s Thor has Stormbreaker. Valkyrie, the new ruler of New Asgard on Earth, also features.
Thor: Love And Thunder will be, unbelievably, the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Taika Waititi also co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Alongside Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman will be Christian Bale. The Guardians Of The Galaxy will also be along for the ride in the form of Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and Sean Gunn.
Intriguingly, Jeff Goldblum and Jaimie Alexander also return from previous Thor adventures.
Thor: Love and Thunder was officially announced in July 2019. Waititi has said the film would adapt elements from Jason Aaron’s run on the Mighty Thor comic book, which sees Portman’s character Jane Foster take on the mantle and powers of Thor whilst suffering from cancer. Waititi later described the project as as a romance film. Filming began in January 2021 in Sydney, Australia, and concluded at the beginning of June.
Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 6, 2022, as part of Phase Four of the MCU.
