From Director Of Up And Inside Out

There’s a new Disney-Pixar movie coming next June. Soul, which is voiced by Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey. The movie’s soundtrack will be scored by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Soul marks Pete Docter’s return as director, following previous work with the studio like Up, Inside Out and Monsters, Inc.. The trailer introduces Joe Gardner (Foxx), an amateur jazz musician facing a mid-life crisis.

Here’s the trailer –

The official synopsis runs as follows:

“Joe Gardner [is] a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz … Just when Joe thinks his dream might be in reach, a single unexpected step sends him to a fantastical place where he’s forced to think again about what it truly means to have soul. That’s where he meets and ultimately teams up with 22 (Fey), a soul who doesn’t think life on Earth is all it’s cracked up to be.”

As this is a music-centric film, Pixar has hired some big names to provide the soundtrack. Most notably, Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who will compose the film’s score, while Late Show bandleader Jon Batiste has composed some original jazz pieces.

Soul hits theaters until June 19th, 2020.
