Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffalo, Naomi Ackie and Toni Collette, are set to join Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming sci-fi movie.
Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite became the first foreign-language film to win Best Picture at the Oscars in 2020. It also won Best Original Screenplay and Best Director which means Ho is now hot shit and everyone wants a piece of him. Admittedly a weird paragraph but this is Hollywood after all.
Batman Vs Hulk
Joining Bong Joon Ho will be The Batman and Hulk! OK calm down, we’re not getting a Batman and Hulk team up in space, even though I’m sure some big wig in Hollywood is probably trying to make it happen.
We are getting Robert Pattison and Mark Ruffalo as well as Toni Collette and Naomi Ackie in what sounds like a great story based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey7.
Book Synopsis
Mickey7 is an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim. Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal—the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.
After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it.
On a fairly routine scouting mission, Mickey7 goes missing and is presumed dead. By the time he returns to the colony base, surprisingly helped back by native life, Mickey7’s fate has been sealed. There’s a new clone, Mickey8, reporting for Expendable duties.
The Cast
Naomi Ackie’s breakout role was in Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker and she’ll be starring as junkie and tragic waste of talent, Whitney Houston in a biopic about her life called I Wanna Bath Dance with Somebody.
Toni Collette is a great actress and can currently be seen on HBO Max (Sky TV here in the UK) series The Staircase.
Robert Pattison certainly seems to be becoming one of Hollywood’s most versatile actors who frequently takes on interesting projects. With him and Ho in high demand right now, this could turn out to be something special.
Ruffalo is in She-Hulk.
