Everyone still loves superheroes and is not bored with them and wants to see more and more of them. Oh, sorry, I’ll turn off my Sarcasm Enhancer. Superheroes are becoming less and less popular, but that’s not stopping Owen Wilson from joining the ranks.
Yes, Wilson was in Loki as some kind of time agent or something, I forget now, but he’s going to lead a family of supers in an up-and-coming movie called Secret Headquarters.
Produced by Paramount Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films this “heartwarming and action-packed superhero film” (not my words), will star Wilson, Walker Scobell, Jesse Williams, Keith L Williams, Momona Tamada, Michael Pena, and Aby James Witherspoon. The official blurb on the movie is:
“While hanging out after school, Charlie and his friends discover the Headquarters of the world’s most powerful superhero hidden beneath his home. When villains attack, they must team up to defend the Headquarters and save the world.”
Secret Headquarters is being directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, with the screenplay written by them and Christopher Yost and Josh Koenigsberg. Tanya Giles, chief programming officer for Paramount Stream has said:
“We have seen tremendous success with our high-quality kids and family content, and are excited to add this special superhero movie to our growing slate of Paramount+ original films.”
“Secret Headquarters is the perfect action-packed summer film for the whole family, making it a perfect fit for Paramount+ and our mountain of entertainment geared toward the whole household.”
It seems pretty late in the game for another superhero movie, but Wilson and Paramount don’t seem to think so. Secret Headquarters will be streaming in August this year.
