Finally, something to get excited about! A One Punch Man Movie!

Oh No, it’s Sony!

Not sure how this flew under my radar but Sony is working on getting a One Punch Man movie off the ground.

For those of you not familiar, One Punch Man is a bizarre superhero series that’s more parody than actual drama. Saitama decided one day to become a super-hero because he was bored. He did a strict regiment of exercise and no air-conditioning for a year and became a god.

But he didn’t do well on the written exam at the superhero organization so no one takes him too seriously. No one realizes how powerful he is except for a cyborg who becomes his apprentice. Saitama doesn’t know how to be a master and mostly just wants to have a fight that would require at least two punches to defeat an enemy.

It’s great.

Now the writers of Venom are going to do their best to ruin it. I mean adapt it.

Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are set to write a live-action film adaptation of the worldwide hit manga series “One Punch Man” for Sony Pictures.

Avi Arad and Ari Arad of Arad Productions are producing the film.

Hugely popular both in Japan and around the world, “One Punch Man” follows the story of Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch but seeks to find a worthy opponent after growing bored by a lack of challenges in his fight against evil.

Well, we’ll see. Adapting anime has been very miss or miss when done in the states.

No date yet but we’ll keep you informed!
