Ahead of the release of Quentin Tarantino’s novelization of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood next week, a trailer has been released.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

The novel, published by Harper Perennial, will act as a retelling of the story.

In the book’s official trailer, narrated by Kurt Russell (who appears in the film as both its narrator and stuntman Randy Miller), familiar scenes from the 2019 movie are interspersed with new footage that wasn’t included in the original theatrical cut, like a brief glimpse of Dakota Fanning as Squeaky Fromme, as well as an extended look at Damon Herriman as Charles Manson and a new scene featuring Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Rick Dalton on the phone with his young costar, Trudi Fraser (Julia Butters).

There’s also more footage of Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth and Margot Robbie‘s Sharon Tate.

Speaking in a recent interview about the upcoming release, filmmaker Tarantino said:

“I think if you’re a fan of the movie, I think you will get a kick out of reading the book, and exploring the characters further and deeper, and learning secrets that you didn’t know, and were not in the movie,”

“It’s not just me taking the screenplay and then breaking it down in a novelistic form. I retold the story as a novel. So it’s not like, ‘Oh, okay, well he obviously had a few scenes left over, so he just took the screenplay and novelized it and threw in a few extra scenes.’ It was a complete rethinking of the entire story and not just a rethinking as far as throwing some scenes that were left out of the editing room. But I did so much research.”
