With just three months to go until release and the composer working on No Time To Die has been fired. He will be replaced by Hollywood’s Mr Dependable, Hans Zimmer.
Musician and singer Dan Romer was reportedly dismissed last month by Eon Productions due to the famous “creative differences”. Zimmer was quietly hired and is already working on the score. It will need to be completed by mid-February to make the edit.
MGM have refused to comment on this. Director Cary Fukunaga brought Romer onboard last summer after they worked together on Maniac and Beasts Of No Nation.
It is rumoured that Romer’s lack of blockbuster experience was the issue. This is the first time in 58 years that a composer has been let go mid-production.
Zimmer is already working on Top Gun: Maverick, Wonder Woman 1984 and Dune. Busy boy!
