Cage Vs. White Jaguar

A trailer has dropped online for a new film starring Nicolas Cage.

Primal will see Cage play a big-game hunter who is on a ship when an assassin breaks loose, freeing his newest catch, a rare white jaguar. Boy, that’s a premise, here’s the trailer:

The official synopsis reads:

“When Frank Walsh (Nicolas Cage), a hunter and collector of rare and exotic animals, bags a priceless white jaguar for a zoo, he figures it’ll be smooth sailing to a big payday. But the ship bearing Frank’s precious cargo has two predators caged in its hold: the cat, and a political assassin being extradited to the U.S. After the assassin breaks free – and then frees the jaguar – Frank feverishly stalks the ship’s cramped corridors in hot pursuit of his prey, right up until the thrilling, unpredictable climax.”

Primal is directed by Nick Powell and co-stars Famke Janssen, Kevin Durand, LaMonica Garrett, and Michael Imperioli.

You’ll find Primal in cinemas and On Demand on November 8th.

While You’re Here

I stumbled upon The Pool when I was reading a round-up from the recent Film Festivals that have been happening. I hadn’t heard about it, didn’t know who starred in it, and I didn’t know what it was about. Well, it’s a Thai movie, and it’s from Asian director and writer Ping Lumpraploeng.

It looks intense and involves a guy stranded in a swimming pool with no means of escape since the pool has been drained of enough water making it impossible for him to reach the top of the basin. Then comes help, in the form of his pregnant girlfriend, but things go horribly awry. And to make matters worse, a crocodile ends up in the pool.

Here’s the trailer:

And the official blurb:

“Day, an insecure art director of a commercial production company is left alone to clear up a 6-meter deep deserted pool after the shooting. He falls asleep on an inflatable raft due to an unbearable fatigue. When he wakes up again the water level has sunk so low that he cannot climb out of the pool on his own. He screams for help but the only thing that hears him is some creature from a nearby crocodile farm.”

The Pool opens in Asia today and the West need to wait until November 8th.
