Sequel Brings All The Zoms To The Yard
A new trailer has dropped for Peninsula, the upcoming South Korean zombie action sequel to the much-acclaimed Train To Busan.
The sequel is set four years after the original and follows a soldier who is tasked with a mission to enter the epicentre of the chaos.
Here’s the new trailer –
The official synopsis reads –
“Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in TRAIN TO BUSAN, the zombie thriller that captivated audiences worldwide, acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho brings us PENINSULA, the next nail-biting chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.”
The trailer looks great, also it looks nothing like Train To Busan. That isn’t a bad thing, this could perhaps be the second chapter of a cool anthology series of films.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, Peninsula stars Gang Dong-won, Lee Jung-hyun, Lee Re, Kwon Hae-hyo, Kim Min-jae, Koo Kyo-hwan and Lee Ye Won. It is written by Park Joo-Suk and Yeon Sang-Ho.
The movie was selected to premiere at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival but that was cancelled due to the current pandemic. The new release date for Peninsula has yet to be announced.
