“I Heard You Paint Houses”

Empire has revealed three new images from Martin Scorsese’s upcoming mob epic The Irishman featuring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Ray Romano, Jesse Plemons, Stephen Graham, and more.

Take a look here:

Netflix, the streaming giant behind Scorsese’s film, is planning an exclusive theatrical run for November for the mob film. However, the theatrical run will not include major chains as Netflix and cinema owners cannot agree on a viable window between having the film in theaters and its availability for streaming.

The film will be released on Nov. 1st in New York and LA. Then it will add further US screenings and expand into the UK on Nov. 8th. You won’t be able to see it at AMC or Cineplex theaters because they’re pissed that the film will be available on Netflix from Nov. 27th.

The Irishman is the story of Frank Sheeran, a mob hitman, and World War II vet who develops his skills during his service in Italy. Now an old man, he reflects on the events that defined his career as a hitman, particularly the role he played in the disappearance of labor leader Jimmy Hoffa, his longtime friend, and his involvement with the Bufalino crime family.

I’m looking forward to this. Scorsese is still a fine director, and he’s assembled quite a pool of talented people, it could be amazing.
