The latest human to test themselves against the Predator is decided. Legion and Roswell, New Mexico actress Amber Midthunder will be the lead. Dan Trachtenberg (Skulls) is directing for 20th Century Studios.

Prepare to feel old, as Midthunder was born in 1997, so she arrived in the same year as Titanic, The Full Monty, and Good Will Hunting. In her career, she also appeared in Longmire and Banshee. We have a standing rule here at the Last Movie Outpost that anything to do with Banshee is alright by us!

Her father, David Midthunder, is an actor and her mother is a casting director. Amber is Native American and an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe

Midthunder recently starred alongside Liam Neeson in both The Ice Road and The Marksman. Her next role will be a Brave / Mulan type story about a Comanche woman who becomes a warrior despite the traditions of her tribe.

The new Predator is said to be a period story and will take the form of a wilderness survival thriller. It is rumored it will contain very little dialogue. The budget is said to be reflective of this back-to-basics approach that promised something different to studio executives.

The movie will shoot in Calgary, Alberta from a script by Patrick Aison. John Davis is the producer.
