With The Book Of Boba Fett having left us, Disney+ and Lucasfilm are ramping up the interest for Obi-Wan Kenobi ahead of its May release date. There are more rumors circling online than you can shake a gaffi stick at and we have a couple of the really tasty ones.

This is also a completely unsubstantiated rumor from the internet so, as usual, this is rumor control… oh yes, and potential:

Kenobi vs. Vader 2 and 3

That’s right kids, a new rumour from LRM Online claims there won’t just be one battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, but there will be at least two! Yes, yes we all know Vader says to Old Ben in the first Star Wars film:

“I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner. Now, I am the master!”

We all grew up considering this to be their first meeting since Obi-Wan finally got sick of Anakin’s whining and cut off his arm and legs and left him to burn alive. However, this is 21st Century Hollywood where nothing is sacred and hacks make the decisions.

So Disney+ obviously didn’t get enough push back from real fans (people that like the sequels are NOT fans) as to why they were changing our beloved Star Wars history so much, that they thought they’d try their luck and give us what will be a fourth fight between them. Perhaps they should call this show Rocky Kenobi or Ben Balboa?

Obi Wan Darth Vader

Palpatine is back… again!

In an interview stretching back to September 2021, actor Ian McDiarmid admitted that even though his character’s annihilation was finally final he says:

“I think I have to accept that, thanks to my ungrateful granddaughter, my annihilation was finally final. Of course, Vader is back in the new Kenobi television series, so I suppose it’s not impossible that one day his mentor might be discovered once again skulking in the shadows.”

Considering this is set before Palpatine’s supposed death in Jedi (God that was depressing writing that) it is totally feasible we’ll get to see McDiarmid hamming it up once again. Hopefully, he’ll be the more sinister version instead of the cackling idiot we got in the prequels.

Kenobi is out on 25th May 2022 and has the potential to be great but then so did The Book Of Boba Fett. Let us know what you think in the comments below, now with instant likes by a whorebot!
