The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards are being used by studios as one of their key marketing triggers for the upcoming summer season, the first season post-pandemic. Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios are also taking advantage of the show and have shared a new clip of Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson in Loki ahead of its June 9th premiere.

Loki

After stealing the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), an earlier version of Loki is brought to the mysterious Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space and monitors the timeline.

They give Loki a choice: face being deleted from existence due to being a “time-variant”, or help fix the timeline and stop a greater threat. Loki will end up trapped in his own crime thriller, traveling through time and altering human history.

The released scene sees the pair arguing as Wilson’s Agent Mobius escorts Loki through the Time Variance Authority offices.

Loki was created by Michael Waldron for Disney+. Waldron serving as head writer and Kate Herron directing for the first season. Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki from the film series, with Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Wunmi Mosaku also starring.

Loki will consist of six episodes and will fit into Phase 4 of the MCU. A second season is in development.
