Dark Horse Announce New Series
In a few months, Alien fans are in for a treat as you will get to experience the first film in the iconic series as writer Dan O’Bannon originally intended.
According to THR, Dark Horse is publishing a five-part miniseries titled Alien: The Original Screenplay. As the name implies, the comic adapts the first draft of O’Bannon’s script.

O’Bannon received sole credit for writing Alien’s screenplay in 1979. However, producers Walter Hill and David Giler made numerous rewrites before the movie began shooting. One of their more noteworthy alterations was changing the name of the ship from the Snark to the Nostromo.
This isn’t the first time that Dark Horse has tackled an alternate version of an Alien film. Back in 2018, they released a similar miniseries based on author William Gibson’s unproduced script for Alien 3.
Dark Horse has enlisted the creative duo of Cristiano Seixas and Guilherme Balbi to bring O’Bannon’s work to the page.
Alien: The Original Screenplay #1 will arrive in comic shops on April 22nd.
