The King Juggernaut Picks Up More Speed

2019 hasn’t been a bad year at all for Stephen King. The author has seen the release of a rebooted version of Pet Sematary, enjoyed the financial success of the sequel to IT, and huge hype around Doctor Sleep, the adaptation of King’s sequel to The Shining starring Ewan McGregor.

On top of this, CBS has opted to make a new adaption of The Stand starring Alexander Skarsgård, and King’s horror-short, The Institute, is also being given the small-screen treatment.

And this week, Netflix has dropped a trailer for another King adaption, In The Tall Grass, from a short story King wrote with his son, Joe Hill.

Here’s the trailer:

The story follows a brother and sister who try to help a young boy in a field of tall grass before becoming trapped. And this field isn’t a good place to be at night!

The official synopsis reads:

“When siblings Becky and Cal hear the cries of a young boy lost within a field of tall grass, they venture in to rescue him, only to become ensnared themselves by a sinister force that quickly disorients and separates them. Cut off from the world and unable to escape the field’s tightening grip, they soon discover that the only thing worse than getting lost is being found.”

Harrison Gilbertson, Laysla De Oliveira, Avery Whitted, Will Buie Jr., Rachel Wilson, and Patrick Wilson star, with Splice director Vincenzo Natali helming.

In the Tall Grass will have its premiere at Fantastic Fest this month, and then arrive on Netflix October 4th.
