Actor Liam Neeson clearly doesn’t keep too close an eye on the world of one of his ex-roles – Star Wars. He has been out doing promotion for The Marksman and when asked about Star Wars he didn’t seem sure it was still a thing. He even asked if:
“Star Wars [is] starting to fade away from [the] cinema landscape?”
This was in an interview with Collider. The interviewer then had to explain that there are numerous movies and TV shows in the pipeline. Then the interviewer mentioned that an Obi-Wan TV show is on the agenda and that many fans are asking if he will return in a cameo or flashback. With a big smile, Neeson confirmed:
“Sure, I’d be up for that, yeah.”
In the role of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Neeson was one of the few bright spots in Star Wars: Episode One – The Phantom Menace, seemingly elevating scenes he appeared in. There has been talk of his character returning in fan circles for years. This chatter seems to have completely passed Neeson by.
One of the busiest men in Hollywood, Neeson has carved out a niche for himself as world weary, reluctant man of action. Taken remains an absolute high point.
