A few days ago, which in internet time is approximately 564378 years ago, the trailer for Mortal Kombat finally hit social media.

Sidebar: How is it that current year and “Kombat” still wants to be spelt correctly? Or should I say Korrectly?

Anyway, the new MK trailer hit social media and I thought this was the perfect time to finally drop a video for all you Outposters and do get reacquainted with making video and using OBS.

Here’s the video!

We get a lot of the key people from the game series.

There’s Sonya, Jax (minus his arms) and there’s a badass fight between Scorpion and Sub-Zero. We also get a glimpse of Goro for a second too. Along with a few others, like Cole Young, whoever that is. Apparently from what I can tell he’s new for the movie. As if the series doesn’t have enough characters to choose from.

Mortal Kombat is an upcoming American martial arts fantasy-action film directed by Simon McQuoid. This will be his feature directorial debut.

It’s hard to say as of now, how close the movie will follow the events of the games. It has characters that were in sequels, such as Kung Lao. So perhaps it’s going to tie the first couple of games together or possibly be its own thing completely with the established characters fans have come to love.

Either way, they’re taking this seriously and with all the blood, it looks like they’re not shying away from the violence at all, which they shouldn’t. The Mortal Kombat game set itself apart when it was first released by having blood and violence all over the place.

Mortal Kombat is set to be released in theaters and on the HBO Max streaming service by Warner Bros. Pictures on April 16, 2021.
