The final trailer for Morbius has arrived and not only does the new footage feature various references to all three Spider-Man universes, but also a direct name-check of Venom!

Are we seriously about to get a film about a scientist who decides to experiment with bats, and after the last two years we’ve just had? OK, I promise to write this up without mentioning you know what.

Morbius is the latest entry in Sony‘s Spider-Man universe, and it will centre around the titular living vampire played by (total ham) Jared Leto. The film will follow the story of Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who is trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, but upon doing so, turns himself into a vampire instead.

Should have worn a face mask, mate.

The Multiverse

After the excellent Spider-Man: No Way Home, the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, we now know that these universes cross over and this will inevitably get more profound (and confusing) with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness coming out in May.

The two-minute trailer offers the best look yet at Morbius‘ final vampire form, with the character’s action sequences taking centre stage. I have to admit it looks quite good. I really hope Leto keeps his ego in check and gives us a solid performance.

Morbius Final Trailer
Not Nancy Pelosi.

There are so many Spider-Man references in this trailer that to list them all and try to make sense of them would not only take me about a week but would actually spoil the fun of watching the trailer.

We get characters, specific buildings, name drops, props and all sorts from all three Spider-Man universes as well as the Venom films. This will leave you scratching your head to what the hell is going on.

What I do know is that Marvel is once again showing everyone else that years of planning and organisation not only deliver what their fans want but earn them a sweet, sweet fortune in doing so.

Check it out and let us know in the comments what goodies you saw in the trailer.
