The newly-single star of Aquaman and Dune, Jason Momoa, could be in line to join the fambly and get a new car. According to Deadline, he is in negotiations to join the cast of Fast And Furious 10. This is apparently the final installment of the car-based, physics denying, lowest common denominator of a franchise for the kind of people who feel a little tingle in an auto parts store.
It is rumored he may possibly be the villain. We know one thing for sure, Dwayne Johnson won’t be returning despite Vin Diesel making sweet, sweet Instagram love to him a couple of months ago. Whatever happened between the two of them, mostly involving Vin’s ego and Hobbs and Shaw proving Statham and Johnson are bigger stars than him in his own franchise, isn’t healed.
A fun movie fact is that Diesel wasn’t even initially up for the role of Dominic Toretto. The studio wanted Timothy Olyphant but he declined the offer.
F10, which sums up how most normal people feel when they see anything about this franchise, is keeping its plot specifics under wraps. We do know Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Michelle Rodriguez will be back and Justin Lin will direct.
F10 is set for release on May 19th, 2023, and follows in the wake of last year’s F9 which defied COVID to gross more than $720 million at the global box office and became one of the biggest films of the year.
Fast And Furious is Universal’s biggest franchise, it is the seventh highest-grossing film series in the world with a combined gross of over $6 billion thus proving Western civilization is truly lost, and the asteroid probably can’t get here quickly enough.
