Disney+ is finally getting some more original content flowing after almost all new shows were frozen because somebody in China left the door of a lab open. Latest to line up for launch is an eight-episode original documentary anthology series – Marvel’s 616 – which will be released on November 20th.

In comics lore, 616 is the number of this version of Earth in our reality. Earth 616. This is the true universe, where most of its comics are based. The term was coined by Alan Moore during his run on the UK-comic Captain Britain. So a cheeky way to intro the multiverse ahead of Doctor Strange 2, then?

The series takes us behind the scenes at Marvel, both the movies and the comics, looks into history, fandom, their place in pop-culture and their impact on the world. Each episode will be helmed by a different director and focus on a different element of all things Marvel.
