Marvel announce all of their movies and TV shows so far in advance, as they have a plan, that there was very little new news about the MCU during the Disney presentation at CinemaCon. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder are already well known and publicized.

Feige
“All your base are belong to us…”

However, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige confirmed that more long-term strategic planning was underway and the future of the MCU is being laid out. Imagine that, DC and Star Wars, an actual plan? Thinking things through before execution? Oh, stop it Kevin! You are making Kathleen look bad!

Feige told the audience that as soon as CinemaCon is done, he and his senior executives and key members of the creative team will be heading to a Marvel Retreat to lay out the plan for up to the next decade.

So that will be X-Men, The Fantastic Four, and villains like Doctor Doom and Galactus then? Avengers 5 and 6? I wonder will anyone from Sony be invited since Spider-Man remains like the children of divorced parents. Will the Netflix shows be reborn after Matt Murdock’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Speaking of No Way Home, is there any way back for Spidey in the MCU following Doctor Strange’s multiverse ending spell.

Who will be there? Alongside Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Victoria Alonso who gets to go? Jon Watts? Jon Favreau? The Russo Bros? Does Avi Arad even get to dial-in? Questions, so many questions…

Come on, who wouldn’t love to be a fly on the wall at that retreat?

Loki will get a second season, meaning more multiverse and variant-based shenanigans are on the cards.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters in just a few days, on May 6th. It is already sitting at $42 million in pre-sales.
