Chadwick Boseman seemed to have everything in front of him. He was the face of a billion dollar franchise and movie offers outside Marvel were starting to roll-in. Unfortunately he was also secretly fighting colon cancer. He sadly lost that fight in August.

Now for what would have been his 44th birthday Disney+ has updated the Marvel Studios logo introduction to Black Panther. It now features scenes from all of Boseman’s Marvel work and from outside the movies themselves, such as at premieres.

Walt Disney’s Bob Iger announced the change via social media:

“To all fans of #BlackPanther: watch the film on #DisneyPlus late tonight, for a special tribute to someone that was and will always be near and dear to our hearts.”

Black Panther 2 is currently in development for a May 2022 release. No news yet on what direction they will take with T’Challa’s replacement.
