Peacock has released the first teaser for MacGruber, the upcoming comedy series which stars Will Forte as the titular spy.

Created by The Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone for a Saturday Night Live sketch, the parody of the classic show MacGyver is being picked up for an eight-episode season, more than a decade after the MacGruber movie was released.

A new documentary-style teaser hints that MacGruber’slatest adventures are about to get wilder than ever.

The new clip catches up with MacGruber in prison, where he’s served a ten-year sentence for killing a supervillain (aka Val Kilmer’s Dieter Von Cunth).

Here it is:

The show’s synopsis reads:

“After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Billy Zane). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe), in order to defeat the forces of evil.”

Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, Joseph Lee Anderson, and Timothy V. Murphy also star. John Solomon, Taccone, and Forte serve as the writers, showrunners, and executive producers of MacGruber. Other executive producers include Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn, Andrew Singer, and Erin David.

All episodes of MacGruber premiere on Peacock on December 16th.
