M. Night Shyamalan’s new move Old has a trailer online.

The plot for Old is described as :

This summer, visionary filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan unveils a chilling, mysterious new thriller about a family on a tropical holiday who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly – reducing their entire lives into a single day.

Old stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Thomasin McKenzie, Embeth Davidtz, Rufus Sewell, Abbey Lee, Alex Wolf. It is based on a graphic novel called Sandcastles by Pierre-Oscar Levy and Frederick Peeters.

It was IMDb that put in the ‘visionary filmmaker’, not me. M. Night has been a bit hit and miss with his movies, Sixth Sense got his career off to a great start, but then he did things like The Last Airbender, After Earth and The Happening.

His trilogy of Unbreakable, Spilt and Glass did very well and had a pretty good reception from both fans and critics. Glass doing about $250 mill in the box office.

Speaking about Old in a recent interview, M. Night was asked what inspired him to adapt the book to film, he explained:

“The book gave me the opportunity to work through a lot of anxieties I had around death and aging, and things like my parents getting older.”

Old is due for released on 23rd July this year.
