Game of Thrones actress Kate Dickie has been revealed as playing the role of the villain in the second season of Marvel’s Loki and Disney+. She joins the returning cast of Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, and Rafael Casal.


The first season followed Hiddlestone’s God of Mischief as he landed in trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) after absconding with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame in the section of the time heist that was set directly after the battle of New York. This then reversed his death at the hand of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.


Michael Waldron returns as head writer. The new season is already largely in the can.

Scottish actor Dickie is known for her roles as Lysa Arryn in Game of Thrones and Lex in BBC’s Tinsel TownHer most recent television credits include Inside Man, Summer Camp Island, Annika and Small AxeHer feature credits include Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

Kate Herron directs some of the new season. In February 2022, she was joined by the directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead who will do the remaining episodes.

They previously directed two episodes of Moon Knight. Eric Martin, a first-season writer who took over some of Waldron’s duties during production on season one, also returns to the writing crew, with Hiddleston and Waldron confirmed to be returning as executive producers. Pre-production had begun by the end of April 2022.

The second season of Loki is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in mid-2023, and will consist of six episodes. It will be part of Phase Five of the MCU.
