There is a trailer up for Liam Neeson’s new movie, The Ice Road and this time he is bringing along Laurence Fishburne.
Looks like Ice Road Truckers with guns. The plot is:
After a remote diamond mine collapses in the far northern regions of Canada, an ice driver leads an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the lives of trapped miners despite thawing waters and a threat they never see coming.
I’m going out on a limb here, but the ‘threat they never see coming’ has something to do with the guys with guns, and, again, at a guess, Liam and Lawrence used to be in the army, maybe special forces. If you have seen our review of The Marksman, you can kind of guess where it might be headed. Although, I might be wrong and it might be something completely different.
The Marksman cost about $23 mill to make and only grossed $22 mill in the box office, a pretty close call, but that was in the middle of the pandemic. It seems like Liam is still popular with his audience.
The Ice Road is written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, no stranger to action, having written and directed The Punisher and writing movies like Jumanji, Armageddon, The Saint and Next. It will star Liam Neeson, Lawrence Fishburne, Holt McCallany and Amber Mindhunter.
It will be streaming on Netflix on June 25th this year.
