Are you the kind of person who finds themselves strangely aroused by a car magazine in the waiting room at your dentist? Do you think that fake carbon fiber decals stuck on your car with double-sided tape can magically enhance the performance? Do you find yourself getting tearful at empty platitudes about “fambly” while having not even a passing familiarity with the world of physics? Then Fast 10 could be the movie for you!
Alongside the franchise’s sheer refusal to die, and Vin Diesel’s staggering overestimation of both its, and his own, importance in the world of cinema, there will be yet another new co-star.
Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson has joined Fast 10 for Universal Pictures. Of course, Vin Diesel announced it in the manner of one who has split the atom or cured cancer, as opposed to somebody who is upstaged by a CGI car regularly.
Producer Diesel took to Instagram over the weekend to announce the star as signing on in his usual way:
“What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast 10. You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”
Larson joins the usual cast, plus Jason Momoa who will appear as the villain character who works alongside Charlize Theron’s Cypher. Fast 10 is said to be the final entry in the franchise for readers of Max Power magazine and lovers of loud car stereos everywhere.
Justin Lin directs this closing chapter of the Fast And Furious franchise, which is scheduled for release on May 19th, 2023.
