Mike Flanagan has had a good run of horror remakes on Netflix with The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Blyth Manor and Midnight Mass. His latest project, The Fall of the House of Usher has hit some problems. They are having to re-cast Frank Langella.

According to reports from Deadline, the 84 your-old actor was:

“…subject of an investigation which has been completed. The trade indicates it has been determined Langella had been involved in unacceptable conduct on set.”

There is no word on what the “unacceptable conduct” was. According to another report, he was accused of making inappropriate comments to a female co-star. He will leave the Usher production and will be re-cast. Re-shoots will remove him from scenes shot so far.

Langella was playing the title role of Roderick Usher in the series, which was about halfway through the production of 8 episodes.

There is also no word on who will replace him at the moment. The rest of the cast is still working on the series, including Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumby, Rahul Kohli, T’NiaMiller, Zach Gilford, Annabeth Gish, Willa Fitzgerald, Samantha Sloyan, and Kate Siegel, Flanagan’s wife. It will also star Mark Hamill in a role that is as yet unknown.

There is no release date set for The Fall of the House of Usher yet, but it seems now it might be a while.
