Jonah Hill has dropped out of talks to star as The Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.  The role remains open.

The reason for passing hasn’t been publicised.  The Batman is rumoured to be based on The Long Halloween storyline and The Riddler is a small, but key, role.

More recently Zoe Kravitz was set to play Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the film,  beating out some pretty serious competition for that role.  Robert Pattinson is confirmed as Bruce Wayne himself.

More mixed messages have been received out of Warner’s and DC, now seems to confirm that this is part of the DCEU.  This comes on top of both star Phoenix and director Phillips backtracking slightly around claims that Joker would never see a sequel and is entirely standalone.

More than likely the DCEU remains a confused mess and nobody knows what to do with it at Warners.

The Batman aims to begin shooting around the new year for a June 25th, 2021 release.
