The film sees Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing a former FBI agent who has to protect a young woman from a gang leader.
Malkovich stars as the gang leader who’s out for the blood of the young woman, played by Ruby Modine, daughter of Stranger Things’ Matthew Modine.
The title of The Survivalist refers to Meyers’ character, who will defend his home at all costs. He’s got the girl as a houseguest and she’s somehow not affected by the virus that has wiped out the government and left the streets ravaged.
