It’s been a few years since Star Trek Beyond, the disappointing third movie of the JJ era. Since then, Star Trek has got worse, with Picard being the latest of the letdowns by Paramount.

It seems everything has now switched to streaming and they aren’t all that interested in the cinema anymore. Star Trek and Star Wars have both been off the big screen for a few years now.
Paramount still would like to see Star Trek 4, but it’s going to take a while. According to the producer JJ Abrams, it would have quite a story to tell.
In a recent article about Chris Pine profile, JJ mentioned a bit of information about ST4:
“I will say it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one.”
Pine went on to add though:
“I don’t know anything. In Star Trek land, the actors are usually the last people to find out anything. I know costume designers that have read scripts before the actors.”
The first of the reboots still stands as the best one, with the third one, Beyond, getting the worst ratings from critics and fans.
Chris Hemsworth was in talks about coming back as George Kirk, but those talks broke down, again, leaving Star Trek 4 in limbo. It seems like JJ wants it to happen though.
