This Year’s Summer Blockbuster
Universal Pictures is gearing up to celebrate Hollywood’s most famous shark with the Jaws 45th Anniversary Limited Edition available in 4K Ultra HD.
In 1975, Steven Spielberg created the first blockbuster movie of the summer and his first blockbuster, Jaws, the iconic and terrifying action-thriller that still makes audiences scared of getting in the water.
Similar to The Beatles White Album, there have been scores of varying home media releases of Jaws over the years, and to mark the film’s 45th anniversary this June, Universal is going again with the Jaws 4K release.
From what I can tell, there are no new special features, they appear to be a collation from previous releases. Here’s what the release comes with –
Bonus Features On 4K Ultra HD And Blu-ray –
- The Making of Jaws
- The Shark Is Still Working: The Impact & Legacy of Jaws
- Jaws: The Restoration
- Deleted Scenes and Outtakes
- From the Set
- Theatrical Trailer
Additional Features On Blu-Ray –
- Production Photos
- Marketing Jaws
- Jaws Phenomenon
The official synopsis for the 4K release reads –
“Led by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg, Jaws set the standard for suspense at the edge of your seat, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon. When the Amity coastal community comes under attack from a dangerous great white shark, the city’s police chief (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a gray-haired shark hunter (Robert Shaw) embark In a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it attacks again. With an unforgettable John Williams score evoking sheer terror, Jaws remains one of the most influential and exciting adventures in film history.”
Jaws 45th Anniversary Limited Edition will be available on 4K Ultra HD combo pack, which includes 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, & Digital Code from June 2nd.
