It seems that everyone is after Henry Cavill at the moment. He’s finishing season 2 of The Witcher, Matthew Vaughn’s Argyle, Enola Holmes 2 and possibly a reboot of Highlander. Well, now it has been reported that he also met up with Marvel.
There is no confirmation what the meeting was about, but it was a ‘face-to-face’ between Cavill and Marvel executives in London. Does Marvel want him for the next phase of the MCU?
This next bit is Rumour Control, but… some have reported that Kevin Feige has mentioned Cavill in connection with Captain Britain. This would obviously be great casting. Cavill has that chiselled jaw, buff physic and doesn’t need to worry about the accent.
The other rumour is he might be playing Hercules. According to some sources, Cavill had a meeting a few months ago with Marvel. If he was playing the Greek God, does this mean he might appear in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder?
At the moment Cavill is probably best known as Superman. With whatever is happening at the DC studios it’s not clear if he will be back as Clark Kent any time so or if he will be replaced altogether.
At the moment, nothing is confirmed, but it is going to be interesting to see what happens. Marvel still have a plan for the future and they are putting their money where their mouth is. DC are, well, doing their best.
