I got into Community a year or two ago and I genuinely loved it. Well, I loved the first three series, then it really started to drag on towards the end. It was fun though.
Community ran for 110 episodes over six seasons, with its first five seasons airing on NBC from September 17, 2009, to April 17, 2014, and its final season airing on Yahoo! Screen from March 17 to June 2, 2015. The show was set at a community college in the fictional Colorado town of Greendale. As time has gone on, producer, Dan Harmon has been talking about a movie.
According to Harmon, it wasn’t a case of “if” a movie happens, but “when” the movie happens.
The star of the original series, Alison Brie, has said there have been “legitimate conversations” about a movie. Harmon then confirmed this in an interview with The Wrap:
“I’ll confirm what Alison said which is that legitimacy is here, conversations and agreements are happening. There’s a story – who knows if we’ll end up sticking to it, but it was something we had to compile in order to take it out and court various venues. And now negotiations happen.”
He went on to say this about getting the movie made:
“When you put the percentage chances together it’s like you have to account for maybe the world blowing up or another virus happening, but as far as the industry is concerned, this is a matter of when and not if, for sure.”
Community starred Alison Brie, Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, and Donald Glover. The series was good, but not sure about a movie.
