Remember when some movies came out without numbers in the titles? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Whatever. As the Insidious movies continue to make money, the fifth one is on the way and just finished filming.
Insidious 5 will star Patrick Wilson, who is also serving as the director. This will be the first time Wilson has directed anything like this.
I genuinely had to look up which one was Insidious, as I get it confused with The Conjuring. They both star Wilson. The Conjuring is about the paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. Insidious is about a kid trapped in a coma.
As I remember it, Insidious had a pretty good trilogy that tied all the stories together in one account. I had no idea there was a fourth one, so the fifth one is a real surprise.
It was announced that filming had wrapped by Wilson’s wife, Dagmara Dominczyk on Twitter.
6 weeks of (fake) blood, sweat, and tears, and now he’s mine all mine once again. 😀 So proud @patrickwilson73 directed a movie, (and killed it, no pun intended) but man oh man we sure have missed him… #thatsawrap pic.twitter.com/KX7qX4aGjg

Wilson has said this new movie has been written by Scott Teems, known for Halloween Kills, based on an idea by Leigh Whannell who created the franchise with the original director, James Wan. The story will be:
Ten years after the end of Insidious 2. Josh Lambert heads east to drop his son Dalton off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both.
There is no release date set for Insidious 5 yet. Blumhouse is producing.
