HBO has announced that episode five of The Last Of Us is moving. It will now arrive two days earlier than usual. The Superbowl is next Sunday, February 12th, so to avoid losing viewers to the annual sportsball, barbecue and beer jamboree they will release the episode on Friday February 10th.

This will be both the live broadcast on HBO, and the release to streaming on HBO Max. It has not been confirmed yet if this will also affect the Sky Atlantic simultaneous release in the UK, or other overseas viewing times.

The fourth and fifth episodes are said to be interlinked, adapting the Pittsburgh and Suburbs sections of the hit video game.

A trailer for the fifth episode has been released, following episode four airing overnight:

HBO may also decide on a move for the series finale, as that is currently scheduled to be released on the same night as the Oscars, March 12th.

The Last Of Us is currently sitting at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and has a 9.2 score on IMDb. The Last of Us premiere episode reached more than 10 million viewers across its first two days of availability, meaning it passed House of the Dragon’s initial series premiere audience in just two days.
