Due To Premiere This August

HBO has dropped a new trailer for Lovecraft Country, the new supernatural horror series due to premiere in August.

Based on the novel by Matt Ruff, Lovecraft Country is about Atticus Black (Jonathan Majors), a science fiction fan who returns to his hometown after getting a mysterious message from his missing father (Michael K. Williams).

Together with his friend Letitia “Leti” Dandridge (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his uncle George (Courtney B. Vance), he set out on a road trip through the Jim Crow-era American South, into Lovecraft Country.

The official synopsis reads –

Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Freeman as he meets up with his friend Letitia and his Uncle George to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father. This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.”

Lovecraft Country comes from Misha Green, who with Joe Pokaski co-created the WGN America show Underground. J.J. Abrams’s produces, as does Jordan Peele.

An exact release date for the show has not yet been confirmed, but Lovecraft Country is currently scheduled to premiere in August 2020 on HBO.
