Marvel’s Disney+ bandwagon rolls ever onward. After WandaVision, Falcon And The Winter Soldier, and now What If..? the next cab off the rank is Hawkeye. Last month they presented a trailer that surprised a few people, showing a welcome humorous tone and some great interplay between the two leads.
Now Marvel Studios has released a new extended TV spot for Hawkeye.
The series is set in post-blip New York City, and former Avenger Clint Barton has one goal – to get back to his family for Christmas.
When a presence from Barton’s past threatens everything, including his chances of getting home in time for Christmas, he is forced to work with Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a hero.
The cast includes Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.
Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie will split directing duties between them. The first two episodes premiere on November 24th exclusively on Disney+.
The question everyone is asking is, will it be any good? WandaVision started spectacularly with intrigue and depth but traded it all in for standard hero-hi jinx in the later episodes. Falcon And The Winter Soldier had some really interesting ideas that it didn’t really capitalize on, so it became somewhat bland. What If..? Well, let’s not and just say we did?
Maybe the third time, in live-action, is a charm?
