Movie Announced For 2022
Disney has confirmed that Indiana Jones 5 is set to begin production with Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role.
The film, to be directed by James Mangold, is to be the 78-year-old Ford’s fifth and final instalment as the famed archaeologist.
During the Disney Investor Day event, Disney announced that Indy 5 is going to begin filming in the spring next year, though pre-production is already in progress.
The company also posted on Twitter –
“Lucasfilm is in pre-production on the next installment of Indiana Jones. At the helm is James Mangold, director of Ford Vs. Ferrari, and Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to continue his iconic character’s journey.”

The announcement puts to bed the speculations that Ford might not be returning, as even though he was confirmed to reprise the role back in 2016, the film was then postponed until 2021.
Film producer Frank Marshall recently said he had no intention of replacing the actor in his iconic role –
“We are working on the script,”
“There will only be one Indiana Jones, and that’s Harrison Ford.”
The actor was last seen as the renowned adventurer back in 2008’s Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
Mangold, director of the Oscar-nominated Ford Vs. Ferrari will be behind the camera for this next chapter instead of Steven Spielberg who directed the first four films in the franchise. This time, he is on board as the executive producer, along with Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall as producers.
Barring any further delays, Dr. Jones’ fifth adventure is expected to hit theatres in July 2022.
