It’s been delayed, delayed again and then left with a “TBA” release date, Now the Gerard Butler-led Greenland is not coming to theaters at all. It’s going straight to PVOD. You can buy it on October 13th, and rent it on October 27th from Amazon Prime Video.

Butler stars as John Garrity, a construction engineer who begins getting mysterious messages from Homeland Security as a massive comet that is supposed to harmlessly pass close by Earth turns out to be coming straight for us with no chance for escape.

Ric Roman Waugh directs with a $35 million-budget that would seem to put it right in the sweet spot for a PVOD launch. The movie also stars Morena Baccarin, and that seems like a good excuse to look at a picture of her.
