Shortly after Joker: Folie à Deux was announced by Warner Bros. then rumors began to swirl that Lady Gaga was in talks for a lead female role. Now her participation is confirmed.
Variety has since reported that the role she was circling was none other than Harley Quinn. So does this mean she is confirmed in that role?
Gaga will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix, returning to the role of Joker after winning the Oscar for best actor for his previous performance. New Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav, has specifically mentioned Joker and said he is a massive fan of both this movie and Matt Reeves’ The Batman even as he was taking a hatchet to the rest of the DCEU, so you can see where this is going.
Lady Gaga confirmed this herself on her Twitter feed with a teaser set to Cheek to Cheek, a song Gaga covered herself with Tony Bennett.
