Upcoming Pandemic Thriller
We have first-look pics of Songbird, the Michael Bay-produced film described as a pandemic thriller that is set four years into the COVID-19 crisis.
Songbird is being billed as the first film to shoot in Los Angeles during the pandemic. The thriller stars KJ Apa (Riverdale) and Sofia Carson (Descendants) and is set a few years into a future in which the virus has not gone away, but instead is killing people at an accelerated rate.

The film follows Nico and Sara, two star-crossed lovers who have never been able to meet in person due to COVID-19 lockdown protocols. In the world of the film – which is set in 2024 – the virus has now mutated into a significantly-accelerated disease called COVID-23, forcing the infected to stay in quarantine camps.
Production reportedly lasted 17 days, with socially-distant zoning, frequent testing, and small crews being implemented.
The film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Demi Moore, Bradley Whitford, Paul Walter Hauser, Craig Robinson, Peter Stormare, and Alexandra Daddario.
