And Walton Goggins Wants Him Dead
An image has dropped of Mel Gibson as Santa Claus for Fatman, the upcoming Christmas comedy which also stars Walton Goggins as a hitman out to kill Santa.
The story for Fatman focuses on a rowdy, unorthodox Santa Claus (Gibson) fighting to prevent his business declining, whilst a neglected and precocious 12-year-old kid hires a hitman (Goggins) to kill Old Nick after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking.
The dark comedy comes from writers-directors Eshom and Ian Nelms (Small Town Crime, Waffle Street, and Lost On Purpose).
Saban Films’ Bill Bromiley said of the film –
“This is our second collaboration with the Nelms brothers, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring another unique, thrilling movie of theirs to our audiences. Eshom and Ian are a talented duo, and we were hooked from script stage. This one is a fun ride.”
Fatman is being produced by Rough House Pictures, the production company behind HBO’s terrific Vice Principals and the recent Righteous Gemstones.
Saban Films scooped up the rights to the film yesterday. There’s no release date listed yet.
