It’s so close now, you can almost smell the plasma toasted marshmallow. Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a direct sequel to the original two movies, removing Ghostbusters 2016 from canon. For that alone, it’s going to get my money! They already released a series of clips this week. Now they have dropped a final trailer.
This new movie will focus on Carrie Coon, single mother to a science-obsessed daughter (Mckenna Grace) and petrolhead son (Finn Wolfhard) with Paul Rudd as their substitute teacher Mr. Grooberson.
After inheriting property in Oklahoma from Coon’s deceased father they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters. Meanwhile, the reason for her father to have come to this town becomes terrifyingly clear as an old foe returns and an ancient gateway is unlocked.
So who are they gonna call?
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts all return for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Harold Ramis passed away, and Rick Moranis has retired from acting. The movie is an exclusive cinema release and arrives on November 19th in the U.S. and the U.K.
We are looking forward to this so much here at Last Movie Outpost, which is probably why we will inevitably have our hearts broken by Hollywood once again. Being a movie fan is sometimes like being in an abusive relationship these days. If you aren’t being taken for granted, you are being gaslighted by studios.
Come on Ghostbusters: Afterlife, prove our cold, cynical outlook wrong, just this once?
