A couple of weeks ago we got our first look at the upcoming Amazon Prime TV adaption of Fallout. Now they have have dropped a featurette for the TV series. The good news is that the creators of the game are talking with great enthusiasm about the approach being taken, and how faithful the designs are to their original concepts.

Art Director Ishvan Pely says he is blown away with how closely they are following the look and feel. Executive Producer Todd Howard says they were approached several times to adapt Fallout but couldn’t get the right fit to adapt the games until Westworld co-creator Jonathan Nolan wanted to be involved. He is a self-confessed big fan of the games.

Nolan himself appears in the clip, being handed a drink by somebody in the power armor while he quips:

“Several years ago, I decided I was going to write the next great American novel, and then a friend gave me a copy of Fallout 3 and now I’m working in television.”

Kyle MacLachlan, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Aaron Moten, Ella Purnell, and Walton Goggins will all star in the series. The games were set in an atompunk retrofuturistic world influenced by the post-war culture of 1950s United States, with its combination of hope for the promises of technology and the lurking fear of nuclear annihilation. The television series will feature Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner as showrunners. Nolan will direct the premiere.
