McGregor and Hawke have signed to star in a new movie entitled Raymond & Ray, written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia.

The story is about two brothers who grew up in the shadow of an awful father. They survive with a sense of humor and the father’s funeral gives them the chance to reinvent themselves. Apparently, there will be anger, pain, love, and a lot of grave digging. Sounds like fun.

Raymond & Ray will be produced by Alfonso Cuaron, Bonnie Curtis, and Julie Lyn. Having a name like Cuaron attached is a good sign.

At the moment, Raymond & Ray is only in the pre-production stage and only McGregor and Hawke have been cast, but we will keep you up to date on it.

In the meantime, we know that McGregor is working on the Obi-Wan series, since he played the best version of Obi-Wan since Alec Guinness. Obi-Wan has no release date yet, but smart money is on a mid-2022 Disney+ debut.

Hawke is starring alongside Oscar Issac in another MCU series, Moon Knight. There’s no news on whom Hawke is playing, but guesses are at the moment, the villain.

He spoke recently on how he landed the part in Moon Knight:

“I heard about it from Oscar Isaac, who lives like three blocks down the street from me in Brooklyn, I was at a coffee shop, he came up to me. He’s like, ‘Hey, I really liked The Good Lord Bird.’ I was like ‘Oh, cool, I really like your work. You’re amazing.’ He’s like, ‘Hey, want to be in the Moon Knight with me?’ I was like… yeah! So, it happened the right way.”

I need to move to that street and drink in that coffee shop!
