Word around Baxter building is that Chris Evans is currently in talks to return as the Human Torch for Deadpool 3

Ryan Reynolds has already succeeded in bringing back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and he’s talked openly about his plans to bring back other actors who appeared in Marvel movies before the franchise became the juggernaut (and now shitfest) that it is.

This rumor comes from GFR so before we proceed let’s… Rumor On!

Rumor Control Flame On

Avengers: Secret Cameos

Stark reported yesterday that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is a thing but it’s reported that Avengers: Secret Wars is also happening with the big bad releaved – check it out here

So does that mean we will get different timeline versions of other characters again as we have seen with Spider-Man No Way Home? Considering that film made nearly $2Bn, it’s a no-brainer.

Rogue (Anna Paquin), Tom Hiddleston, Jonathan Majors, and Howard the Duck, have already agreed to show up in Deadpool 3. I’m not sure how they managed to reach out to Howard, but whatever, he’s on board. Reynolds has also said he wants to bring back James Marsden as Cyclops and Halle Berry as Storm.

It’s so crazy that it might just work.

Deadpool: What If?

So with the rumored return of Chris Evans, could this open the door for the return of Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba and Michael Chiklis to round off the entire Fantastic Four?

And what about the rest of the original X-Men cast? With Berry (who is still so damn hot) and Marsden sought after, I hope we get Janssen, Romijn, Ashmore and McKellen too.

We’ve already seen the return of Patrick Stewart as Professor X in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness and it’s clear with his return as Picard that he’s happy to sign up for any old shit if it earns him some coin.

“You’ll believe Picard is a good show…”

So Many Questions

I’m wondering if Marvel is going to use Deadpool 3 as a way to draw a line under the various X-Men incarnations, give the original Fantastic Four a swan song and use it to signal in a new assemble for X-Non-Binaries and the long-awaited Fantastic Four

Deadpool is tongue-in-cheek enough, and bat-shit crazy to bring absolutely everyone back. I’ll be honest, I’d pay good money to see McKellen and Fassbender both sharing the screen as Magneto. And seeing Romijn and Lawrence in their blue birthday suits as Mystique… Shwing! Although, I’m sure Jennifer Lawrence believes she was the first Mystique.

If Marvel allows it, to see Evans both as Captain America and Johnny Storm in one movie and the potential jokes that could produce would be golden. And let’s not even get started on Ellen/Elliot Page’s return as Kitty or would it now be Colin Pryde?

The Multiverse Of Multiverses

It’s often been a bone of contention to me why these superhero movies always draw from the same pool of actors. With DC permitting (it’ll never happen but who can predict Hollywood anymore?), here’s a list of actors and actresses that have portrayed various CBM characters.

Are Reynolds and his Deadpool team bonkers enough to attempt to cameo or even mention the following? Let me know if I’ve missed anyone.

Reynolds – Deadpool and Green Lantern
Michael B. Jordan – Human Torch and Killmonger
Halle Berry – Catwoman and Storm
Josh Brolin – Thanos and Cable
Michael Keaton – Batman and Vulture
Ben Affleck – Daredevil, Batman and kind of Superman
Tom Hardy – Bane and Venom
Jared Leto – Joker and Morbius
Idris Elba – Heimdall and Bloodsport
James Marsden – Cyclops and Richard White
Nicolas Cage – Ghost Rider, Big Daddy and Spider-Man Noir
Aaron Taylor-Johnson – Kick-Ass, Quicksilver and Kraven
Brandon Routh – Superman and The Atom
Jennifer Connely – Bette Ross and Karen (Spidey suit voice)
Doug Jones – Abe Sapien and Silver Surfer
Ray Stevenson – Punisher/Volstagg
David Harbour – Hellboy and Red Guardian
Willem Dafoe – Green Goblin and Vulko
Laurence Fishburne – Silver Surfer (voice), Perry White and Goliath
Will Slapper Smith – Hancock and Deadshot
Zachary Levi – Fandral and Shazam

Why am I so excited about this? I need to get back to work, the Christmas break has clearly done me damage. Deadpool 3 debuts in theaters on 8th November 2024.
