Marvel Studios is preparing for their next big release, Eternals. The next phase of the MCU really gathers pace with this entry and it has the potential to set the tone for what is to come. Will it ignite excitement, or will those who say it ended with Endgame be encouraged?

Eternals

In a new TV spot to promote the upcoming movie, Kumail Nanjiani’s Kingo describes the Eternals as the:

“…greatest warriors the world has ever known.”

So great they sat out the rumble with Thanos? This will apparently be explained in the movie. Other rumors out there online are that there will be tie-ins to the visions of Thor during Avengers: Age Of Ultron, specifically around a comet from Thor’s Valhalla vision.

The movie does seem beautifully designed with some striking visuals. Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao helms, and you can see some of her touches in a lot of this footage from the latest Eternals TV spot.

Eternals welcomes a new team of superheroes to the MCU in a story that spans thousands of years. It will feature a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.

An ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as human-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays human Dane Whitman.

Eternals is based on the 1976 comic book series created by Jack Kirby. The Eternals were intended to be defenders of Earth by their creators, The Celestials.

Eternals will hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
