The newest of the MCU movies, Eternals, hasn’t even hit the cinemas just yet, but it has been getting 1-star reviews, apparently from people not happy about it having a gay superhero.

The movie centers on a race of immortal beings with superhuman powers who have existed on earth for thousands of years. It boasts a big cast, including Angelina Jolie, Harish Patel, Salma Hayek, Kit Harrington, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, and more.

Brian Tyree Henry plays Phastos, who is married to another man, with a child and there is one scene where there is a kiss between the two men.

Angry Marvel fans have been on the IMDb and posting negative reviews and only rating it 1 star. One report said there were over 450 one-star reviews, which have now been deleted by IMDb.

One review said:

“If woke and mediocre would be given a medal, this would win. C’mon Marvel, this was cheap even for you.”

Another reviewer said that Marvel was just trying to:

“…tick all the Hollywood woke boxes. Totally unrecognisable from the comics. Don’t waste your money, it’s not worth it.”

The IMDb removed the negative reviews on the basis that the people had not seen the movie and only seemed to be concerned about the gay character. We had an article recently about how Eternals hasn’t been getting very good reviews, but those reviews have now been deleted!

We can all make up our own minds on 5th November, when the movie is released. If you are planning on seeing it that is.
